What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a real job combined with structured training, allowing you to earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification. Apprenticeships provide hands-on experience, practical skills, and career progression opportunities. Many employers retain apprentices as permanent staff after completion, making this an excellent pathway to start or advance your career.

Who can apply for an apprenticeship?

You can apply for an apprenticeship if you are:
  • 16 or over
  • eligible to work in England
  • not in full-time education
