An apprenticeship is a real job with training, so you can earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification. Many employers keep their apprentices as permanent staff after they complete their training.
What does the Early Years Apprenticeship teach?
Early Years Apprenticeships are designed for those wanting to work with children and young people. A typical childcare setting will be a nursery, preschool or playgroup.
A typical role will be an early-years worker, care worker or nursery nurse. The roles will usually involve supporting children’s learning and development through play and communication, as well as also involve helping with activities such as snack time, story time and outside play.
In a childcare setting, apprentices may be required to work both individually, using their own initiative, and as part of a team.
