Access Works - Helping you into Employment

​Access Works supports learners aged 19+ with confidence building courses, employability skills training, and CSCS card courses for construction careers. We also offer functional skills in English and maths to boost job prospects. All programmes are fully funded for eligible learners, helping you gain qualifications, improve skills, and move confidently into work.

​Confidence Building with Employability Skills

Boost your confidence and improve your employability skills with our short, classroom-based course for adults aged 19+.
 
Over three days, you'll learn stress management, time management, and techniques to build self-esteem.
 
Achieve an Entry level 3 AIM-accredited qualification in Employability, designed to enhance life skills and self confidence.

Eligibility requirements:
  • Aged 19+
  • Unemployed and receiving benefits or earning below £25,750 per year

​Nottingham, Cawley House, 96 Cliff Rd, NG1 1GW - Monday 9th February to Wednesday 11th February 2026.
                                                                                               Monday 16th February to Wednesday 18th February 2026.

​Derby, ​DHA, Stuart Street, Curzon Room, DE1 2EB  - Monday 16th February to Wednesday 18th February 2026.

Alfreton, Firs House in Alfreton (off Rodgers Lane, Firs Garden, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 7FU - Tuesday 24th March to 26th March 2026.

​Level One Employability and Introduction to AI 

Boost your employability skills and gain an insight into AI with our short, classroom-based course for adults aged 19+
 
Over four days, you will learn how to work in a group, prepare for an interview, as well as gain introductory knowledge into the benefits of using AI.
 
Achieve a Level 1 AIM Certificate in Employability and Development Skills, aimed to give you the transferable skills to take into any role.
 
Eligibility requirements:
  • Aged 19+
  • Unemployed and receiving benefits or earning below £25,750 per year
 
Upcoming dates:

Nottingham, Loxley House, Station Street, NG2 3NG - Monday 19th January to Thursday 22nd January 2026.

Derby, DHA, Stuart Street, Curzon Room, DE1 2EB ​ - Monday 2nd March to 5th March 2026.

​CSCS Card Course - Get Qualified for Construction

Thinking about a career in construction? You’ll need a valid CSCS green card to work on site. Our fully-funded CSCS training course gives you the skills and certification to start working safely.
 
Course details:
​

7.5 days, face to face, classroom-based course

Week one: Extended Employability Level 1 Certificate with employer’s overview and vacancies offered (5 days training)
​
Week two: Health and Safety in Construction Level 1 with in-house Health and Safety (H&S) test and external CSCS test on successful completion of H&S test (2.5 days training)
​
Eligibility requirements:
  • Aged 19+
  • Unemployed and receiving benefits or earning below £25,750 per year
  • No experience necessary
  • Employer will provide a guaranteed interview/registration on successful completion of the CSCS external test.
​​

​Nottingham, Cawley House, NG1 1GW - Monday 19th January to Thursday 29th January 2026, Monday 26th January to 5th February.

​​Derby, DHA, Stuart Street, Curzon Room, DE1 2EB - Monday 2nd February to Thursday 12th February 2026.
