Expert status for Access Training

26th October 2023
We’ve been selected to take part in the Department for Education’s (DfE) expert apprenticeship training provider pilot.

The pilot aims to make it easier for employers to work with us by giving expert providers more access to DfE systems. This will reduce the time and bureaucracy for employers using the digital systems needed to recruit apprentices.

As an expert apprenticeship training provider we will:
  • Act as ambassadors for the apprenticeship programme
  • Use our expert status as a mark of excellence in our sector
  • Use flexibilities and permissions in the apprenticeship service to help more learners.
The application process involved sharing information about our commitment to providing excellent opportunities for learners. We’ve been delivering training for over 35 years, have good connections with employers and a 4/4 star ‘excellent’ rate for employer feedback on the Gov.uk apprenticeship site.

We’ll use our involvement in the pilot to make it easier for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to recruit new apprentices, many of whom will be young people.

Corrina Hembury, our Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to have been selected by the Department for Education as an expert provider. We want to make it as easy as possible for employers to engage with apprenticeships to give more people the opportunity to benefit from high-quality training. Being part of this pilot scheme will help us to achieve this.”
