Enrolment now open for September’s study programmes
13th July 2022
Access Training has announced details of its study programmes for the academic year 2022-23.
The programmes are ideal for those candidates who are ready to move on from school and gain a recognised qualification and practical, hands-on work experience.
All courses take place at Access Training’s learning centre which is a 5-minute walk from the train station. They are available in the following subjects: Childcare; Animal Care; and Construction. As part of each course – which takes place in term time over one academic year – students also have the opportunity, where required, to improve their Maths and English.
Study typically involves attendance for three days each week.
As Becky Dutton, Access Training’s Full Time Provision/Safeguarding Manager points out,
“Our study programmes have a firm focus on teaching our candidates aged 16 to 18 very real skills that they can use to progress to their next level of learning or into employment. Our Animal Care students get the opportunity to attend a farm every fortnight. Our Childcare Level 2 students get first-hand experience in a nursery, preschool or playgroup environment. Our Construction students will work towards achieving a City and Guilds qualification at Level 1, which includes learning important health and safety requirements for the sector.
For any student who, for whatever reason found school challenging (or dare I say boring!) – this is a great opportunity to learn in a completely different and stimulating way.”
Enrolments for the study programmes, which all commence in September, are taking place in Nottingham as follows:
Tuesday, 2nd August: Childcare
Wednesday, 3rd August: Animal Care
Thursday, 4th August: Construction
