Access Training wins Nottinghamshire Education and Business Partnership Award 2021
22nd November 2021
Access Training has been crowned the winner of the Nottinghamshire Education and Business Partnership Award 2021, by East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire).
The award recognises those schools, colleges and further education providers that most effectively support their students to develop crucial employability skills valued by employers. It is sponsored by Nottingham University Business School, with Associate Dean and Director of Executive Education, Professor David Park, presenting the award at the November ceremony at Colwick Hall, Nottingham.
Some of the reasons why the judging panel considered Access Training to be such a worthy winner, were outlined to the audience on the night. The judges cited, the ‘immense enthusiasm’ of Managing Director Corrina Hembury and the ‘clear evidence of the measurable difference the business makes to both business partners and the learners they engage with’. In particular, it was the ‘social purpose’ of Access that resonated so strongly with the panel.
This is the second consecutive year that Access Training has won the award. As Corrina Hembury comments,
“To win this award last year blew us away. To win it for a second time is deeply humbling, and I’d like to dedicate it our region’s learners and job seekers who have never given up, no matter how hard the fight in dealing with the disruption to their learning caused by Covid, being faced with a changing job market, and having to re-train.
“I’m really proud that the team at Access Training are unfailing in their support to our learners, giving them a helping hand in improving their employability and building their confidence and offering pastoral care; and at the same time providing local businesses with access to the talent they need to grow.”
