Sara Stepp - Business Administrator Apprenticeship Level 3

Sara’s story: Achieving success through a Business Administration Apprenticeship

For Sara, balancing a demanding role at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) with an apprenticeship was no easy task, but her dedication, perseverance, and the support of Access Training helped her achieve remarkable success.

At 37 years old, Sara decided to take the next step in her career by enrolling in a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship while working at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. Despite the challenges of a fast-paced hospital environment, she remained committed to her studies and ultimately achieved a distinction grade.

A journey of growth and achievement

Sara’s success wasn’t just about earning a qualification it was about building confidence, gaining new skills, and overcoming personal challenges.

“Access Training has helped me achieve my Level 3 in Business Administration and both maths and English Functional Skills. The help and support from my trainer assessor and tutors have been invaluable throughout my apprenticeship. Knowing that help was always at hand made a huge difference. This qualification will help me succeed further in my chosen career path.”

One of Sara’s biggest hurdles was maths, particularly fractions, but her perseverance paid off. She attended extra classes, completed additional work in her own time, and successfully achieved her Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths, a significant personal milestone.

Flourishing under pressure

Sara’s trainer assessor, Sally Haydon, praised her exceptional commitment:

“Sara flourished during her Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship. Despite working in a busy hospital department, she showed great dedication, submitting excellent assignments, evidence, and a brilliant project presentation. She has now gained the confidence in her abilities to carry on to a higher-level course.”

Her hard work and determination have not only helped her succeed in her apprenticeship but also set her up for further career progression in business administration.

A bright future

With her Level 3 qualification and Functional Skills in maths and English under her belt, Sara is now ready to take the next step in her career. Her apprenticeship has given her the skills, knowledge, and confidence to continue advancing within the NHS and beyond.
