New legal requirements in housing
Housing providers must ensure their senior staff are qualified to Level 4 or 5, or working towards it. This is a key requirement of the Social Housing (Regulation) Act, designed to raise standards and improve outcomes for tenants.
At Access Training, we’re supporting the housing sector to meet these new legal requirements through a combination of apprenticeships and CIH (Chartered Institute of Housing) qualifications.
This change will affect thousands of professionals currently working in the sector. Many will need to gain formal qualifications for the first time, not only to comply with the law but to build the knowledge, confidence, and professional credibility needed to deliver high-quality housing services.
Our apprenticeship programmes, offer a clear route to achieving these standards while supporting staff in their day-to-day roles. For those seeking a more direct route to compliance, we also deliver standalone CIH qualifications, recognised across the sector.
To mark this important moment for the housing workforce, we’ve launched a new video interview with our Managing Director, Corrina Hembury, alongside our co-owners NCHA and Futures Housing Group. Together, they explore what these changes mean in practice, and how we can work together to meet the challenge head-on.
