Jamie’s Apprenticeship Journey in Adult CareAs part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud to share the achievements of Jamie, an Adult Care Worker Level 2 apprentice from NCHA, whose journey shows just how transformative apprenticeships can be.
When Jamie joined the programme, he was open about finding school difficult, particularly as a neurodiverse learner with ADHD. Classroom learning and exams had previously knocked his confidence, but with tailored support and a learning style that suited him, Jamie quickly began to thrive. He attended every study session, fully engaged in his learning and even submitted his work early. Despite being nervous about his End Point Assessment, Jamie achieved an impressive Merit, a milestone he once thought was out of reach. Jamie’s confidence has grown enormously, both personally and professionally. He has completed a secondment as an Assistant Manager, supported new apprentices in his workplace, and taken part in management training. His manager describes him as a strong, valued team member who simply needed to believe in himself. Now, after overcoming his fears and achieving so much, Jamie is ready for his next step, progressing onto the Level 3 Adult Care Apprenticeship and working towards a future career in care management. Jamie’s journey is a powerful reminder that with the right support, you can achieve far more than you think. We’re incredibly proud of him and delighted to have been part of his story. |
