What does the qualification cover? |
The qualification includes eight units and individuals can expect to learn the following: The Housing System The unit aims to provide knowledge and understanding of housing markets and the factors that can influence them. Professional Practice Skills for Housing The unit aims to provide the professional skills required to practice in housing. Homelessness Services and Prevention The unit aims to provide knowledge of how people can become homeless, the services which are available to those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness and how homelessness may be prevented. Dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour in Housing The unit aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the ways in which landlords and their partners can deal with anti-social behaviour. Housing Repairs and Maintenance Services The unit aims to provide an introduction to systems developed to deliver short-, medium- and long-term maintenance programmes. It also covers the client and contractor roles. Occupancy, Tenure and Lettings The unit aims to provide an understanding of the different legal terms on which people may occupy their homes. In particular, it will explore the different tenancy types available, and how homes are allocated and let by landlords. Rental Income Management The unit aims to provide an understanding of the importance of a rent arrears strategy and the management of supportive services. It will also examine the legal framework for arrears management. Managing Empty Properties The unit aims to provide an understanding of the context for managing empty properties and how organisations manage empty properties. |
Entry requirements |
