Access Training welcomes new youth employment drive
Access Training warmly welcomes the governments announcement introducing new employer incentives and a decisive pivot toward supporting younger apprentices. The reforms include a £2,000 apprenticeship incentive for small businesses, as well as broader commitments aimed at reversing the long-term decline in apprenticeship starts among young people.
For years, the sector has seen a significant drop in young people entering apprenticeships, prompting calls for action. Today’s measures seek to ensure that funding is more strongly focused on younger learners, in recognition of the vital role apprenticeships play in securing early careers and tackling future skills shortages.
At Access Training, this mission is already at the heart of what we do. Over two-thirds of the apprentices we support are under the age of 25, and we firmly believe apprenticeships offer a transformative pathway, providing young people with the skills, confidence and experience needed to thrive in the workplace and progress up the career ladder.
We look forward to working closely with employers to maximise the impact of these incentives and to continue opening doors for the next generation of talent.
