Access Training launches new Administrative Assistant apprenticeship
|
Access Training has announced the launch of the new Administrative Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship, starting in August 2026. Developed in response to employer demand, the apprenticeship creates clear pathways into entry-level administrative roles while helping organisations build essential business support skills.
Employers across sectors have consistently highlighted challenges in finding candidates with the right mix of organisational, communication and digital skills. This new apprenticeship offers a practical solution, enabling businesses to recruit and develop talent while strengthening their workforce. Through the programme, employers can: • Recruit and develop entry-level talent • Build a skilled, adaptable workforce • Improve productivity through structured training • Create clear progression pathways. The launch coincides with new government incentives designed to support apprenticeship recruitment, particularly for SMEs. From October 2026: • Training costs are fully funded for apprentices under 25 • Employers can receive a £2,000 incentive for hiring 16–24-year-old apprentices. • Up to £3,000 additional support is available for eligible individuals on Universal Credit • The £1,000 payment for hiring apprentices aged 16-18 is also still available. These incentives significantly reduce recruitment costs while increasing return on investment. Hiring an apprentice delivers long-term benefits beyond cost savings, including improved staff retention, tailored skill development and the creation of a sustainable talent pipeline. With strong employer backing and enhanced government support, now is an ideal time to invest in apprenticeships. Access Training is currently recruiting employers for the launch of this apprenticeship in August 2026. To find out more or register your interest, contact the Engagement team today. |
