Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driving NVQ Level 2

Is it for me?
If you are already working in the passenger transport industry and want to gain a nationally recognised qualification which provides evidence of your competence as a pcv driver, Access Training can help.

What does the course involve?
The units you have to cover for the City and Guilds Passenger Carrying Vehicle Driving NVQ include:
• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues
• Contribute to health and safety in your workplace environment
• Provide professional customer care in the bus and coach industry
• Prepare for passenger carrying journeys
• Help passengers who have special needs
• Sharing information of the operation of the bus or coach service
• Deal effectively with difficult passengers
• Drive passenger carrying vehicles safely and efficiently
• Operate the passenger systems and service
• Deal with emergencies and incidents during a bus or coach journey

How long does it last?
• between 6-9 months

Where will I learn?
All learning will take place in the work place. You will have your own Trainer Assessor who will visit you and guide you through the qualification.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through observation and assessment of your performance of work based practical tasks. through questioning and through the production of a portfolio of written evidence.

What does this lead to?
You may wish to continue to a level 3 NVQ and progress to a supervisory role.
