Level 3 Diploma

You must achieve at least 44 credits. Credit Value at the side of unit number (in brackets).

You must do all of these units:

  • Unit 301 (2) Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
  • Unit 302 (3) Schools as organisations
  • Unit 303 (4) Support learning activites
  • Unit 304 (3) Promote children and young people's positive behaviour
  • Unit 305 (2) Develop professional relationships with children, young people and adults
  • Unit 306 (2) Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
  • Unit 307 (4) Support assessment for learning
  • Unit 331 (4) Understand child and young person development
  • Unit 332 (3) Engage in personal development in health, social care or children's and young people's settings
  • Unit 333 (3) Understand how to safeguard the well being of children and young people
  • Unit 334 (2) Support children and young people's health and safety

Plus a minimum of 12 credits from:

  • Unit 309 (3) Invigilate tests and examinations
  • Unit 310 (4) Plan and deliver learning activities under the direction of a teacher
  • Unit 311 (3) Support literacy development
  • Unit 312 (3) Support numeracy development
  • Unit 313 (3) Support teaching and learning in a curriculum area
  • Unit 314 (3) Support delivery of the 14 – 19 curriculum
  • Unit 315 (3) Provide literacy and numeracy support
  • Unit 316 (4) Support gifted and talented learners
  • Unit 317 (4) Support bilingual learners
  • Unit 318 (6) Provide bilingual support for teaching and learning
  • Unit 319 (5) Support disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs
  • Unit 320 (4) Support children and young people with behaviour, emotional and social development needs
  • Unit 321 (4) Support learners with cognition and learning needs
  • Unit 322 (4) Support learners with communication and interaction needs
  • Unit 323 (4) Support learners with sensory and/or physical needs
  • Unit 220 (4) Assist in the administration of medication
  • Unit 324 (4) Support children and young people during transitions in their lives
  • Unit 325 (3) Lead an extra-curricular activity
  • Unit 326 (3) Maintain learner records
  • Unit 327 (3) Monitor and maintain curriculum resources
  • Unit 328 (2) Organise travel for children and young people
  • Unit 329 (3) Supervise children and young people on journeys, visits and activities outside of the setting
