Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools QCF Level 3
Is it for me?
If you are already working as a Teaching Assistant, with responsibilities for managing class pupils in the teacher’s
absence, curriculum planning from schemes of work and assisting with setting up classrooms to promote inclusive
learning, Access Training can help you achieve a City and Guilds qualification and improve your skills and knowledge.
You will need to be working with pupils in a school for a minimum of 12 hours per week in paid employment.
How long does it last?
Up to 9 months
Where will I learn?
You will learn in the workplace and will also need to attend sessions to gain the underpinning knowledge for
your qualification. Your trainer assessor will visit you in your work place and guide you through the
qualification.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through observation of work based practical tasks, questioning and through a portfolio of
written evidence.
What does this lead to?
You can progress to a Higher Level Teaching Assistant course at Level 4 or a Foundation Degree.
