Construction

Description The course is for KS4 pupils who are interested in learning more about the basic skills involved in construction. School groups or individual students who are vocationally motivated can try their hand at brick work, plumbing, painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery.
Length To gain a full qualification, students need to start in September and attend for 1 day per week for a full academic year. Courses are available weekdays from 9am to 3pm. If an individual student starts later in an academic year, units of the qualification may be achieved.
Qualifications City & Guilds Award/Certificate/Diploma in Basic Construction Skills

Award            Entry (501/1097/4)      8 Credits
Certificate     Level 1 (501/0799/9)  13 Credits
Diploma         Level 1 (501/0798/7)  37 Credits

Venue Our training centre and workshops are near to the Pentagon Island on the West Meadows Industrial Estate in Derby.
