Health & Social Care QCF Level 3
Is it for me?
This qualification allows you to specialise in the care of adults and is particularly relevant to
senior care workers and care or support workers who have additional responsibilities.
What does the course involve?
The units you have to cover in the Health and Social Care QCF Level 3 include:
- Promote effective communication for and about individuals
- Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment
- Reflect on and develop your practice
- Promote choice, well being and the protection of the individual
Plus further units from a wide choice depending on the area you choose to specialise
in. Your trainer assessor will guide you in your choice.
How long does it last?
Between 9-15 months
Where will I learn?
- Within your own workplace
- You may need to spend some time at home producing written accounts for your portfolio
Induction takes place in your workplace. You will have your own trainer assessor who will visit
you in your work setting. Your trainer assessor will guide you through the requirements and National
Standards that have to be met in order to achieve your QCF level 3.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through work based practical tasks, observations, and written accounts. You will
build up a portfolio of evidence proving your underpinning knowledge and experience within the sector.
What does this lead to?
This qualification will give you the confidence to fulfil your job role and can be part of your
continuing professional development (CPD). You can progress to a QCF Level 4 in Health & Social Care
if you are in a managerial position, or to a Foundation Degree.
