Health & Social Care QCF Level 2

Is it for me?
If you are working or would like to work in one of the caring professions for adults, such as in their own homes or in a nursing/residential care home, then we can help you become qualified. This qualification is especially suitable for workers who support people with their daily living needs and do not wish to follow the lengthier apprenticeship route.

What does the course involve?
The units you have to cover in the Health & Social Care QCF include:

  • Communicate with, and complete records for individuals
  • Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals
  • Develop your knowledge and practice
  • Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well being of individuals

Plus further units from a wide choice depending on the area in which you are working. Your trainer assessor will guide you in your choice.

How long does it last?
Between 6-12 months

Where will I learn?

  • Within your own workplace
  • You may need to spend some time at home producing written accounts for your portfolio

After an Induction, you will have your own trainer assessor who will visit you in your work setting. Your trainer assessor will guide you through the requirements and National Standards that have to be met in order to achieve your QCF level 2.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through work based practical tasks, observations, and written accounts. You will build up a portfolio of evidence proving your underpinning knowledge and experience within the sector.

What does this lead to?
You will become a qualified care/support worker in the care industry. You can progress to a QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
