CRB Disclosure Service

Did you know that Access Training is also a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Registered Umbrella Body? Therefore, provided that you are entitled to ask exempted questions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 Exceptions Order 1975 and can meet the obligations contained in the CRB’s Code of Practice, we are able to process CRB applications on your behalf.

Our service

As part of the service we offer, we are able to:

• Act as an interface between you and the CRB
• Administer, process and acquire the CRB check on your behalf
• Provide initial training (normally a 15-20 minute session by phone) on the completion of the application form and the checking process of the applicant’s identity
• Thereafter provide over the 'phone guidance for ad-hoc queries when completing an application and/or checking a piece of documentation as part of the identity check
• Help you comply with certain obligations contained in the CRB’s Code of Practice.

Costs

The current cost of an Enhanced CRB check is £44.00; we charge a small administration fee of £15.00 per application. The total cost per application is therefore £59.00 and included in this price is:

• The advice we give on completing applications
• A final check of the completed application form and the countersignature itself by one of our trained and experienced CRB countersignatories
• The postage charges incurred of us forwarding the application to the CRB to be processed and then the disclosure to yourself once returned from the CRB

Should an applicant meet the definition of a volunteer as provided in the CRB’s glossary of terms, the Enhanced CRB check charge is waived therefore the cost would be just the administration fee of £15.00.
