ACHIEVEMENTS

We have been particularly successful in 2009. We were finalists in the National Star Awards and we won the NTN Entry to Employment and Train to Gain Awards.

We held our own Celebration Event in May 2009 where over 100 learners collected their certificates and heard John Endersby of Connexions speaking glowingly of the relationship we have with them.

A total of 381 learners have successfully achieved with us up to May 2009 as follows:

Apprentices
Advanced Apprentices
NVQ Level 2
NVQ Level 3
Skills for Life
Schools Work It Out Programme
63
59
87
88
70
14

We look forward to hosting an even more successful celebration event in May 2010.

Our achievements in 2009 are;
Apprenticeships 78%
Advanced Apprenticeships 80%
These achievements are far above the national average for learners in Work Based Learning.

Progression

We are very pleased to have entered into a Progression Agreement with the Open University in 2009. This means that learners who complete an Advanced Apprenticeship in Children’s Care Learning and Development will be encouraged to consider progressing to an Openings course with the Open University if they would like to take their studies further.

Openings courses include:
Understanding children (Y156)
Understanding health (Y158)
Further progression can be achieved by completing Introduction to Health and Social Care (K101) after completing an Advanced Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care.
