Course Details

If you are between the ages of 16 and 18 and know what job you want to do but aren’t quite ready to go to work, then this is the course for you. You will be able to gain a qualification in your work area and also qualifications in Maths, English and ICT. You will also be able to experience work placements where you can use your new skills.

Our centres are friendly and welcoming with small class sizes and you will learn in a supportive atmosphere.

All the qualifications are delivered from Entry Level 3 to Level 1, with some Level 2 and you will be able to study at a level to suit you..

On top of all that you this course will help you increase your confidence and make new friends.

Activities will include:

  • Preparation for Work in a variety of settings (preparing for interviews, looking for jobs)
  • Personal Development which will include things like managing your finances, understanding yours and other people’s rights also making considered choices for the future
  • Work experience
  • Health and Safety
  • First Aid
  • Working and helping your local community
  • Fund raising events (for charities such as Children in Need and Red Nose Day)

You will also be able to gain a whole or part qualification

How long does it last?
Your training course will be designed to meet your individual needs, including the level of qualifications you take. You start on a minimum of 16 hours per week which will gradually increase once you have a work placement.

Where will I learn?
You will attend our premises in Nottingham and at a work placement where you will have your own personal tutor to guide you.

How will I know how I am doing?
Your tutors will review your progress regularly, talk to you about your successes and offer you continual advice and guidance.

What does this lead to?
You may get a job in your chosen area, go to college or start an apprenticeship.
