Yes if you want practical, hands-on experience in construction skills.
What does the course involve?
You will study for the City & Guilds Certificate/Diploma in
Basic Construction Skills as well as Functional Skills in
Maths, English and ICT. You will also gain a further
qualification in personal development to help you gain
employability skills. Enrichment activities include fund
raising, guest speakers and vocationally relevant visits.
You will gain practical experience with construction in:
- Bricklaying
- Carpentry and joinery
- Painting and decorating
- Plumbing
Where will I learn?
You will attend our friendly welcoming premises which are situated near to the Pentagon Island
on the West Meadow Industrial Estate, Derby where we have workshops and training rooms. All class
sizes are small and you will learn in a supportive environment.
What does this lead to?
This can lead to an apprenticeship in your chosen field,
further Level 2 study at college or may be even your own
business.
